Background/History:
American Jews had it bad, although not nearly as bad as others who were virtually exterminated in Europe. Basically third class citizens at best, Ron’s grandfather forged papers to hide their heritage and moved to Russia. Ron’s best friend in college was a scientist/inventor named Werner Reynolds and he confided his secret to him. It was a horrible mistake since Werner was quite the good little Nazi deep down. He had been working on a prototype space vehicle that could pass through the atmosphere and possibly go to the moon. Before he went to the government, he wanted to test it, but even his fearless friend refused. So, he played his trump card, test the ship or be revealed. Ron had no choice, not so much for his own sake, but for his elderly parents. The plan was to aim for the small breach in the atmosphere over Russia, reputed to have been cause by the mysterious explosion in the early 1900s. The ship performed well, but when it passed through the breach, things began to go wrong. Communications were lost and the ship careened out of control and crashed in the Russian woods. The wreckage left no hope for a survivor, but the cabin had remained somewhat intact. To Reynolds’ surprise, there was movement inside. He tried to get it open before any authorities could arrive, but to no avail and he fled. Twenty soldiers arrived just in time for the cabin to burst apart as a huge humanoid figure emerged. No longer human, he appeared to be made of clay. He was huge, nearly ten feet tall. Fortunately for the soldiers, he collapsed. At first thought to be an alien, they quickly realized the ship was not unearthly. Ron could not speak and had little memory, but he was very strong and almost indestructible. Using some of the techniques that had been used on Commando, they controlled his mind and turned him into a living weapon of destruction for the Reich. Some evidence at the site led them back to Reynolds and, after interrogation, he spilled everything he knew and was shot. However, it amused Hitler to name their weapon after the Jewish mystical creature, the Golem, and he became a devastating weapon in the arsenal of the Lightning Squad.

Personality/Motivations:
Golem appears to have no memory of his past and has no personality to speak of. He understands languages and does simple functions without specific orders, like opening a door for example. He follows his orders simply, absolutely, and with no guilt whatsoever.
