Background/History:
Her family ruled a small nation in the Balkans for generations. Although
maintaining the facade of independence, the Nazis had taken over for all intents
and purposes well before the defeat of England. Unable to stomach the pretense,
Katherine’s grandfather took his family into exile. She was raised as though
she were royalty because her family had no doubt that one day they would regain
their country. She discovered the ability to control magnetics in her teens as
she was a mutant. Hearing tales of the Liberator, she realized her powers could
be useful in freeing the world, as well as her homeland, from the grip of
tyranny. Her parents felt that that would be far too dangerous of an activity
for a princess, but Katherine had her mind made up. Disguising her true
identity, she contacted the Resistance and revealed her powers. Donning a
costume, she became Magneta and eventually joined the Super Allies. She is
romantically involved with Zig Zag, which would be a major issue with her
parents since she should be married to royalty.
Personality/Motivations:
She is an aristocrat and comes off occasionally as somewhat arrogant. She is
unused to dealing with the common folk that she must adapt to dealing with on
their level for fear of revealing her true identity. Her main motivation is to
free her people and regain her homeland.
