Background/History:
In 1917, the American Soldier fought the evil Ian Troll and knocked him into the
Nexus of Mystical Vortices, located in the Rocky Mountains in this reality,
where he remained trapped for decades. Argent was born with the proverbial
silver spoon in his mouth, a talented athlete, and raised to run Starr Inc., a
huge conglomerate founded by his father. Argent simply needed to ask and got
virtually anything he wanted with little effort and he was quite used to it. On
a mountain climbing trip in the Rockies with his wife and Aaron Cromwright, his
best friend, they stumbled across the Nexus as Troll attempted to escape once
more. Troll attempted to possess Argent, but Aaron threw himself in the evil
spirit’s path and was possessed instead. The mystical energies swirling around
somehow activated sonic abilities in Argent and when he screamed for his friend,
trees shattered and Argent blacked out. When he came to, his wife explained what
had happened as best she could. He dedicated himself to repaying his friend by
mastering his abilities, using them to help others under the name Screamer, and
eventually exorcise the demonic spirit from his friend. He met Swift and they
formed the first and only team on this world, the Protectors of America. The
highlights of his former life were the birth of his daughter and the final
defeat of Ian Troll freeing Aaron from his clutches. Sadly, their world was
destined to come to an end when Gremlin entered their dimension and destroyed
it. The valiant battle that the Protectors put up caused Gremlin pause, but he
was too powerful to stop. He vaporized Screamer, murdered the rest of the team,
and left Swift alive as the only living being on the dying shell of their earth.
Lord Chaos and Master Chaos in the Prime Universe formed a team to stop Gremlin’s
rampage and sent Mammoth to retrieve Swift as he had first hand knowledge of
fighting Gremlin. Swift had been alone for weeks, but sometimes he thought he
heard something. In the Prime Universe, he helped the assembled heroes defeat
Gremlin and became a member of the Northern Light. For a time he seemed haunted
by a voice like his old friend and when he sought help from Arcanum, ironically
the Prime Universe’s version of Aaron Cromwright, they discovered that
Screamer was not dead. He existed in a pure sonic energy form and had traveled
with Swift unknowingly. Using Arcanum’s knowledge of Crykill’s activities,
he created a body to house Screamer’s soul in much the same manner as Crykill
had created a body to house his evil spirit once Sound Wave and the Protectors
freed Arcanum. Alive once more, Screamer was faced with a huge dilemma. This
reality had a Sound Wave who had a daughter much like his own and a very
different Argent Starr. Mammoth used his link to Chaos and Order to ask for help
and they transported Starr to a reality without a Screamer or Argent Starr, the
Super Allies Universe desperately in need of superheroes. Quickly realizing the
horrifying switch in history where the Nazis won WW 2 here, he looks up the
Super Allies to offer them his services and they accepted. In the spirit of his
new life, he took on a new, slightly more patriotic guise as Sonic Star.
Personality/Motivations:
Always groomed to run things as in the family business or starting the
Protectors of America, Argent had always been the leader, determined to succeed
at any reasonable cost. Now, he is content to be a member of the team and let
others assume the responsibilities of leadership to allow himself time to grieve
and grow acclimated to his new world.
