Background/History:
During the wild years on Pegasus, there were many bands of raiders and
barbarians roaming the northlands relatively unchecked. While on a quest,
Tietous and his group came upon a burning farmhouse and the signs of an attack.
Hearing a cry from within, they found a small boy, at most three years old,
under the burning body of his mother. They rescued the child whose name they
discovered from a carved headboard from his crib. Knowing the marauders could
not be far ahead of them, they secured the child and raced in pursuit.
Following the swift and bloody defeat of the bandits, Tietous could find no one
who had any claim to the child and brought him back to the Church of Thor as a
ward. Justin was raised in the church and became very devoted to it. He
trained tirelessly to become a squire and aspired to become a paladin in honor
of the men who had rescued him and avenged his parents, as well as the church
they served. Upon his graduation, he was granted the surname 'Thorsen' since
they had never discovered his true name and, due to the nigh miraculous
circumstances of his rescue, all agreed he'd been blessed by Thor enough and
worked more than hard enough to be considered a son of Thor.
